Think of a podcast like you do an e-mail.
You don't go 'get' your e-mail. Your e-mail comes to you. First, you had to set up an account. Then you had to have an e-mail program to retrieve your letters. Well, podcasting works exactly the same way. A lot of people set up free accounts at places like Itunes.
If you have a free Itunes account you will find us in the podcast section by searching on "prayer." If you have a free Itunes account, click here: America's Prayer Meeting Podcast On Itunes . If you click this link and you don't have an Itunes account, it will just say, "Page Not Found." Because all this is so new, we have tried to put together a tutorial for you.
If you are new to podcasting...
You
will need a "podcast client." iTunes is the most popular. They
have some 13 million visitors per month! iTunes is free. You will download
the iTunes software at this address: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Again, it's free and doesn't cost anything. Our podcast is free, we offer
it at no cost to listeners around the world!
Once the software is on your computer, you began at the iTunes "Music Store." The web site is organized exactly like a department store. You want to go to the podcast section, because that's where you'll find us! The picture to the left shows you what you will see when you go into the iTunes music store. Click on podcasts.
When
you arrive in the podcast section of the iTunes music store, you will
have the opportunity to search. There are thousands of podcasts on every
topic imaginable! Millions of people use this free service everyday!
(That's why we want to see the Gospel represented on iTunes. It's a HUGE
marketplace.) In the search area, which you will see to the top right
hand corner of your screen, type in: Prayer Richard
Dortch. This will take you right to America's Prayer Meeting.
Okay, here we are! Click on "subscribe" and every time there's
a new program available it will come directly to your computer. You can
listen at work, or out the program on your iPod or MP3 device, or burn
it to a CD.
